Turn left onto Washington Street and continue straight. After a short drive, turn right onto Derby Street. Follow Derby Street, which will lead you directly to the waterfront area. There is street parking available, but be sure to check for any parking fees or time restrictions. If you prefer a parking lot, look for the nearby Salem Willows Park parking area.
Public Transportation - Bus
For those using public transportation, you can take the MBTA bus service. Look for the #450 or #451 bus from the Salem Depot. Board the bus and ask the driver to let you know when you're near Derby Waterfront District. It’s a short ride, and the bus fare is approximately $1.75. Once you disembark, head towards Derby Street, and you will be able to walk to the waterfront area.
Walking
If you're already in downtown Salem, walking to the Derby Waterfront District is quite pleasant. From the Salem Common, head down Essex Street towards the water. Continue straight on Essex Street as it transitions into Derby Street. This scenic route will take you through charming parts of the city, and it should take about 15-20 minutes to walk the approximately 0.7 miles to the waterfront.
