Getting There

• Car

  From anywhere in Northwest Kansas, head southeast on US-83 S toward US-50 E. Continue on US-83 S until you reach the intersection with I-70 E. Merge onto I-70 E and continue for approximately 80 miles until you reach the exit for US-75 S towards Topeka. Follow US-75 S for about 45 miles, then merge onto I-470 S toward I-70. Exit onto I-70 E and continue until you reach I-49 S. Stay on I-49 S, which will take you directly to Independence, Missouri. Take exit 100 for US-160 E toward Independence. Follow US-160 E until you reach N Liberty St. Turn left onto N Liberty St, and the Vaile Mansion will be on your right at 1500 N Liberty St.

  To reach Vaile Mansion via public transportation, start by finding the nearest bus station that services Greyhound or other regional bus lines in Northwest Kansas. Board a bus heading towards Kansas City, MO. Once in Kansas City, transfer to a local bus service like the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA), which offers routes to Independence.
