    If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from a local rental shop in downtown Topeka. Head east on SE 6th Ave, which will turn into SE 29th St after several blocks. Continue on SE 29th St for about 1.5 miles. Lake Shawnee will be on your right at 3137 SE 29th St. There are bike racks available at the park for you to secure your bike.

    For those who enjoy walking, you can start from the Kansas State Capitol building located at 300 SW 10th Ave. From there, head south on SW 10th Ave to SE 29th St, then turn left to walk east on SE 29th St. Continue straight for about 2 miles. Lake Shawnee will be on your left at 3137 SE 29th St. The walk will take approximately 40 minutes, so wear comfortable shoes.
