If you're traveling by car, start from the city of Shymkent, which is the nearest major city to Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve. From Shymkent, take the A2 highway heading west towards Zhabagly. After approximately 70 km, you will reach the village of Zhabagly. Once in Zhabagly, follow Фабричная көшесі (Fabrichnaya Street) for about 1 km, and you will arrive at the entrance of Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve. Make sure to have a map or GPS handy, as road signs can be limited. Be cautious of speed limits and local driving laws. Parking may be available near the entrance, but check locally for any fees or requirements.

For those using public transportation, from Shymkent, take a marshrutka (minibus) or bus to the village of Zhabagly. Marshrutkas depart from the Shymkent bus station and take about 1.5 to 2 hours to reach Zhabagly. Once you arrive in Zhabagly, you can either walk to the reserve entrance (about 1 km) or arrange for a local taxi to take you there. Be sure to check the marshrutka schedule ahead of time as they may not operate frequently, especially on weekends.
