Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, start from the city of Karaganda, which is one of the main cities in Central Kazakhstan. Take the A16 highway heading east towards Abay. After approximately 130 kilometers, you will reach the town of Abay. From Abay, continue on the A16 for another 50 kilometers until you reach the village of Zhaksy. From Zhaksy, take a right onto an unpaved road that leads directly to the Duzen Mausoleum. Drive about 15 kilometers on this road until you see the mausoleum. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain, as the last stretch may not be paved.

Public Transportation

To reach Duzen Mausoleum via public transport, take a bus or marshrutka (minibus) from Karaganda to Abay. The journey should take about 2 hours and costs approximately 500 KZT. Once in Abay, hire a local taxi to take you to Zhaksy (around 2000 KZT). From Zhaksy, you can arrange for a local driver to take you the remaining 15 kilometers to the mausoleum. Make sure to negotiate the fare in advance. Note that public transport may have limited schedules, so plan your trip accordingly.
