Car
If you're driving from Aktau, take the A-27 road towards the Mangystau Peninsula. After around 180 km, you will reach the turn-off for Sherkala. Follow the signs towards Sherkala for about 30 km. The road will lead you directly to the base of the mountain. Make sure to have a reliable GPS or map app, as some areas may have limited signage.
Public Transportation
From Aktau, take a bus or shared taxi (marshrutka) to the town of Zhanaozen. The journey takes about 2-3 hours and costs approximately 1,000 KZT. Once in Zhanaozen, you can hire a taxi or find a local tour that can take you to Sherkala, which is about 50 km away. Ensure you negotiate the fare beforehand, which should be around 3,000-5,000 KZT for a round trip.
