Hi, I'm Eve. Here are a few practical things to know before exploring Baiterek.
Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Car
If you're traveling by car, make your way to Astana (now officially called Nur-Sultan) via the M-36 highway if you're coming from the south, such as from Shymkent. Once you arrive in Nur-Sultan, follow the signs to the city center. Baiterek is located at 4CHJ+86C, which is in the Esil District. Use a GPS or a mapping app to navigate, as it will guide you directly to the landmark. There are parking facilities nearby, but be aware that parking fees may apply.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus or a train to Nur-Sultan. From Shymkent, you can take an overnight train to Nur-Sultan, which will drop you off at the main train station. From there, catch a city bus (lines 10, 12, or 30) or a taxi to Baiterek. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes, and the fare is usually around 150 KZT. Make sure to have cash in the local currency for bus fares.
Taxi or Ride-Sharing
For a more convenient option, consider using a taxi or a ride-sharing service like Yandex Go after arriving in Nur-Sultan. Simply enter 'Baiterek' or the address (4CHJ+86C, Astana) into the app. The fare from the train station or bus terminal should be around 800-1500 KZT depending on traffic.
Use Baiterek as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
