If you are traveling by car within the Syr Darya Basin, start from the nearest major city, which is Shymkent. Take the M-32 highway and drive northeast for approximately 200 kilometers towards Turkistan. Continue on the A-2 road, and keep an eye out for signs directing you towards the Syr Darya River. Once you reach the town of Kyzylorda, follow the signs towards Syr Darya, which is located close to the city center. There are parking options available near the riverbank.

For those using public transportation, take a bus from Shymkent to Kyzylorda. Buses leave frequently from the main bus station. The journey takes about 4-5 hours and costs around 1,500 KZT. Once you arrive at Kyzylorda's bus station, you can either walk or take a local taxi to the Syr Darya River, which is about 2 kilometers from the bus station. Taxis generally cost around 300 KZT for this short trip.
