Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Almaty, take the Al-Farabi Avenue east towards the mountains. Continue on this road until you reach the intersection with the Almaty-Bishkek highway (A2). Take a right turn onto the A2 and continue for about 25 km. Look for signs that indicate 'Alatau' or 'Trans-Ili Alatau'. After approximately 10 km, you will need to turn right onto a smaller road leading into the mountains, following the signs to the Viewpoint of Wheat Valley. The location is approximately 84W5+RJ, Alataou, and parking options are available near the viewpoint.

• Public Transportation

  To reach the Viewpoint of Wheat Valley using public transportation, start by taking a bus or minibus (called 'marshrutka') from the Almaty city center to the Alatau region. Look for buses heading towards 'Alatau' or 'Kaskelen'. Once you reach the Alatau area, you may need to take a taxi for the final leg of your journey, as public transport may not directly reach the viewpoint. Make sure to confirm the fare with the taxi driver before starting your ride. The taxi ride should cost around 1,000-1,500 KZT depending on your starting point.

• Hiking from nearby areas

  For those who are adventurous and prefer hiking, if you are already in the vicinity, you can hike to the Viewpoint of Wheat Valley from nearby trails. Start from the nearest parking area or bus stop and follow the marked trails leading towards the viewpoint. Ensure you have proper hiking gear and enough water, as the hike can take a few hours depending on your pace.
