Car
From Almaty, take the Almaty-Kapshagay highway (A2) towards the Turgen Gorge. After about 40 km, take the exit towards Turgen Gorge. Follow the road until you reach the entrance to the gorge. Continue driving until you find a parking area close to the trailhead leading to Butakovskiy waterfall. The parking area is well-marked, and usually, there is no fee. Once parked, head on foot along the marked trail for approximately 3 km to reach the waterfall.

Public Transportation
Take a bus from Almaty to the village of Turgen. Buses depart from the Sayakhat bus station, and the fare is around 300 KZT (approximately $0.70). Upon reaching Turgen, you can either walk or hire a taxi to take you to the start of the hiking trail. The taxi ride should cost around 1000-1500 KZT ($2.50-$3.50). Once at the trailhead, follow the well-marked trail for about 3 km to reach Butakovskiy waterfall.

Once you reach the trailhead, begin your hike on the marked trail toward Butakovskiy waterfall. The hike is moderate, taking roughly 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on your pace.
