Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start from the nearest major highway, US-60. Take the exit for KY-15 N toward Campton. Continue on KY-15 N for approximately 10 miles until you reach Campton. From Campton, follow signs for the Daniel Boone National Forest. You will need to take a series of local roads. Look for KY-191, which will lead you towards the Creation Falls area. Once you are on KY-191, continue for about 5 miles until you see the signs for Creation Falls. There is a small parking area nearby, which may require a parking fee, usually around $5. Make sure to have cash on hand for the parking fee.

• Public Transportation

  If you are relying on public transportation, your best option is to take a bus from Lexington to Campton. The Greyhound or other local bus services may provide routes to Campton. Once you arrive at the Campton bus station, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to take you to Creation Falls. The taxi may cost around $20-$30 depending on the distance and time of day. Be sure to book your rideshare in advance if possible, as availability can be limited in rural areas.

• Hiking

  For those feeling adventurous and already within the Daniel Boone National Forest, consider hiking to Creation Falls. There are several trails leading to the falls. One popular route begins at the Red River Gorge Trailhead. It's approximately a 2-mile hike to the falls, so be prepared for a moderate trek. Ensure you have proper footwear, water, and snacks. The trail can be rocky and uneven, so keep an eye out for trail markers.
