Car
From any point in Daniel Boone National Forest, navigate towards KY-15 N. If you are near the Red River Gorge area, take KY-15 N from the gorge until you reach the intersection with KY-77. Continue on KY-15 N until you see the signs for Rogers, KY. Turn onto Glencairn Rd (you will see a sign for Gorge Underground) and follow this road until you reach 2478 Glencairn Rd, Rogers, KY 41365. The drive should take approximately 30-45 minutes depending on traffic and your starting point.
Public Transportation
Public transportation options are limited in this rural area. The nearest major town is Morehead, KY. From Morehead, you can take a taxi service or rideshare (like Uber or Lyft) to reach Gorge Underground. Make sure to book your ride in advance, as services may not be readily available. Expect the taxi fare to be around $40-$60 depending on traffic and time of day. If you are coming from a larger city, consider checking local bus services to Morehead and then proceeding with a taxi.
Bicycle
For the more adventurous traveler, considering a bicycle ride can be an exhilarating way to reach Gorge Underground. From the Red River Gorge area, take the scenic backroads leading to Rogers. Use KY-15 N as your main route, but be cautious of traffic. Make sure to wear a helmet and have all necessary safety gear. This route is approximately 15 miles and may take 1-2 hours depending on your cycling speed and fitness level.
Use Tower Bridge as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
