If you're in downtown Lexington, start at the Lexington Visitor Center located at 215 W Main St. Head east on Main St towards N Limestone St. Turn left onto N Limestone St and walk for about 0.5 miles until you reach E High St. Turn right onto E High St and continue for approximately 0.7 miles until it forks into Richmond Rd. Stay on Richmond Rd for about 0.3 miles. Look for Sycamore Rd on your left; turn left onto Sycamore Rd. Continue walking straight for about 0.3 miles, and you will see Ashland - The Henry Clay Estate on your right at 120 Sycamore Rd.

From downtown Lexington, walk to the closest Lextran bus stop at 3rd St and Main St. Take Route 7 (to the Bluegrass Airport) and ride for about 15 minutes. Get off at the Winchester Rd and Richmond Rd stop. Transfer to Route 16 (to Southland Dr.) and ride for another 10 minutes until you reach the Sycamore Rd stop.
