Getting There

• Public Bus

  To reach the International Museum of the Horse using public transportation, you can take the Lextran bus service. Start at any location in downtown Lexington and head to the nearest Lextran bus stop. Catch the #1 (Blue Route) bus towards 'New Circle Rd.' and get off at the 'Iron Works Pkwy' stop. From there, walk north on Iron Works Pkwy for about 0.5 miles. The museum will be on your left at 4089 Iron Works Pkwy. The total travel time should be around 30-40 minutes depending on your starting location and wait times.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bike from a local bike-sharing program. Start in downtown Lexington and head northeast on Main St. After a few blocks, turn left onto East Vine St. Continue until you reach the intersection with Iron Works Pkwy. Turn right onto Iron Works Pkwy and follow the road for about 2 miles directly to the museum. Watch for bike lanes along the way and be mindful of traffic. The bike ride should take approximately 20-30 minutes.

• Walking

  For those who enjoy walking, you can start from the heart of downtown Lexington. Head east on Main St. until you reach the intersection with North Broadway. Turn left onto North Broadway and continue until you reach the intersection with New Circle Rd. Turn right onto New Circle Rd. and walk for about 1 mile until you see Iron Works Pkwy. Turn left onto Iron Works Pkwy and walk for another mile to reach the museum. This scenic walk should take roughly 50-60 minutes.
