Getting There

• Private Vehicle

  If you are traveling by private vehicle within Amboseli National Park, you can easily reach Amboseli Trails by following the main park road. From the entrance of Amboseli National Park, drive along the main road for approximately 15 kilometers. You will see signs directing you to Amboseli Trails. The location is situated at a latitude of -2.8373206 and a longitude of 37.520391. The road is well-maintained, but be cautious of wildlife crossing.

• Safari Vehicle

  If you are on a guided safari tour, inform your guide that you want to visit Amboseli Trails. Most safari vehicles are familiar with the park's layout and can navigate to the site without issue. Make sure to schedule this stop in advance. The guide will take you directly to the location without any additional costs, as this is included in your safari package.

• Public Transport

  For those using public transportation, your best option is to take a shuttle or matatu (shared taxi) heading towards Amboseli National Park from nearby towns like Namanga or Kajiado. Upon entering the park, request the driver to drop you off at the nearest location to Amboseli Trails. Be aware that you may need to pay a park entrance fee, which is approximately $60 per person for non-residents. Once dropped off, you can walk to Amboseli Trails, which is about a 2-kilometer trek.

• Walking

  If you are already within the vicinity of Amboseli Trails and prefer a walking route, you can follow the designated walking paths. These paths are well-marked and provide a safe way to explore the area. Ensure you have a local guide with you for safety and to enhance your experience. Walking from any nearby lodge or campsite should take about 30-45 minutes, depending on your starting point.
