Getting there

Car

If you are driving from the main entrance of Lake Bogoria National Reserve, head southeast on the main road. Follow the signs directing you towards Lake Bogoria. After approximately 15 km, you will arrive at the shores of Lake Bogoria. From there, you can hire a local boat to take you to Devils Island. The boat ride should take around 20-30 minutes and may cost you between 1000 to 2000 Kenyan Shillings, depending on the negotiation.

Public Transportation

Begin your journey by taking a matatu (shared minibus) from your location in Lake Bogoria towards Bogoria Town. The fare usually ranges from 50 to 100 Kenyan Shillings. Upon reaching Bogoria Town, you may need to hire a local motorcycle taxi (boda boda) to take you to the lake's edge, which will cost around 200 Kenyan Shillings. From the lake, you can negotiate with local fishermen for a boat ride to Devils Island, which may cost between 1000 to 2000 Kenyan Shillings.

Walking

If you are staying close to the lake, you can walk to the lake shore. It is advisable to go in groups for safety. Once you reach the shore, you can look for local fishermen who might offer boat rides to Devils Island. The cost for the boat ride will still be between 1000 to 2000 Kenyan Shillings.
