Amazing 3-night hike up to point Lenana

We did the 3-night hiking trip to point Lenana, up the Sirimon route and down Chogoria. The scenes were so beautiful, our guides were really nice and knew the mountain very well, and the service was next level, better than we could have ever expected. The whole team was really nice and made us feel welcome and looked after. There were very few people on the trail and we got to sit at the summit by ourselves for a good half hour after making it. 100% recommend for anyone who likes a good hike.

Excellent Mount Kenya experience – 10/10! I used Equitorial Star for my Mount Kenya hike and had an absolutely excellent experience. Duncan was incredibly professional, reliable, kind and patient. I had multiple changes and rescheduling requests, as well as adjustments to the itinerary, and he went above and beyond every time to make things work. His communication, flexibility and willingness to help were exceptional. The hiking team were also fantastic. The guides were professional, experienced and genuinely caring. The food was good, the tents were pitched for us, and after long days of hiking they even brought us little treats like cookies and popcorn. They also provided warm water for us to wash our faces, which was such a thoughtful touch after a tiring day. Everyone was so willing to help and made the whole experience comfortable and enjoyable. I would highly recommend Equitorial Star to anyone planning to hike Mount Kenya. Duncan and his team made a challenging adventure feel incredibly well organised and supported. 10/10 – I would absolutely use them again!

5 Day Mount Kenya Climbing Experience

Silence, Stars and the Spirit of the Mountain

The five-day trip took me to another world. As I climbed the Sirmone, I first walked in the shade of the dry forest and the huge trees, there was a kind of silence as if the world had stopped. Arriving at Mackinder's Valley, I saw the night sky so clear that it seemed as if the stars could be caught by the hand. On the way to the summit in the morning, the body was tired but the mind was getting lighter. On the way down I stopped again and again to see the bamboo forest of Chogoria and the deep gorge of Gorges. The guides not only showed the way, but also told the story of the mountain. This experience is not just a mountain climb, but a new identity with oneself.
