If you're traveling by car, start your journey from Kisumu. Head southeast on the A1 road towards the town of Ahero. After approximately 16 km, take the exit on your right to join the A104 road towards Homa Bay. Continue for about 40 km until you reach the junction for Ruma National Park. Follow the signs leading to the park entrance. The total drive should take around 2 hours, depending on traffic. Be aware that you may encounter some rough patches on the road, so it's advisable to drive a vehicle with good clearance.

To reach Ruma National Park using public transportation, start by taking a matatu (shared taxi) from Kisumu to Homa Bay. This journey will take around 1.5 to 2 hours.
