    If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Moshi, which is one of the main towns close to Kilimanjaro. Take the A23 road heading southeast towards the Kilimanjaro National Park entrance. The distance from Moshi to the park entrance is approximately 30 kilometers, and the drive will take around 45 minutes to 1 hour. Once you reach the Kilimanjaro National Park gate, you will need to pay an entrance fee (currently about $70 per person for non-residents). After entering the park, follow the signs to the Machame or Marangu trailhead, depending on which route you choose to hike to the summit.

    For those using public transportation, take a dala-dala (local minibus) from Moshi to the Machame gate. The dala-dala terminal in Moshi is located near the main market. The fare is around 3,000 TZS (Tanzanian Shillings) per person. The journey will take about 1 hour, depending on traffic. Upon arrival at the Machame gate, you will need to pay the entrance fee of approximately $70 for non-residents.
