Car Rental
If you are traveling by car from the Kilimanjaro Region, drive towards the Namanga road and cross the border into Kenya. Once in Kenya, follow the A104 road from Namanga towards Nairobi. After approximately 60 kilometers, take the exit onto the A2 road towards Nanyuki. Continue on the A2 for about 160 kilometers until you reach Nanyuki town. From Nanyuki, follow the signs to Mount Kenya National Park, which is about a 30-minute drive. Be aware that there may be park entry fees, which typically range from $20 to $30 per person, depending on your nationality.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To travel by public transport from Kilimanjaro Region, first take a bus from Moshi to Arusha. From Arusha, you can find buses heading to Nairobi. Once in Nairobi, look for buses or matatus (minibuses) that go to Nanyuki. The total travel time might take around 8-10 hours, including waiting times. Buses from Arusha to Nairobi generally cost around $20, and from Nairobi to Nanyuki, the fare will be approximately $10. After arriving in Nanyuki, you can hire a taxi or use local transport to reach Mount Kenya National Park, which is about 30 minutes away.

If you prefer a more direct route from Nanyuki to Mount Kenya, you can hire a taxi. After arriving in Nanyuki, negotiate with taxi drivers at the station for a ride to Mount Kenya National Park. The fare may range from $30 to $50, depending on the negotiation and the exact destination within the park. Ensure to agree on the price before starting the journey.
