Getting There

    If you're driving, start your journey from Moshi, a common base for travelers heading to Kilimanjaro. Take the A23 road heading south towards Arusha. After approximately 35 kilometers, look for signs directing you to the Machame route entrance. Continue on this road, which will lead you through the scenic landscapes of Kilimanjaro Region. After reaching Machame, follow the local road signs to Kilimanchuma, which is located at coordinates 0.20° N, 37.88° E. Be prepared for some rough terrain, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended.

    From Moshi, you can take a daladala (shared minibus) heading towards Machame. These typically leave from the central bus station in Moshi. The fare is around 1,000 TZS (Tanzanian Shillings).
