Bicycle
From the center of Kisumu, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops. Head south on Oginga Odinga Road until you reach the junction with Kisumu-Kakamega Road. Turn right onto Kisumu-Kakamega Road and continue straight. After about 4 kilometers, you will reach the Nyahera area. Look for the signs indicating the direction to Abindu Caves; it should be approximately 1 kilometer from the main road.
Walking
If you prefer walking, start from the Kisumu Central Bus Station. Walk east on Oginga Odinga Road until you reach the roundabout. Continue straight and take the first left onto Kisumu-Kakamega Road. Walk for about 4 kilometers. Once you reach Nyahera, ask locals for directions to Abindu Caves; it is located around 1 kilometer from the main road.
Public Transport (Matatu)
From Kisumu town, head to the matatu stage near the Central Bus Station. Board a matatu heading to Nyahera. The ride will take about 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive in Nyahera, ask the driver or locals for directions to Abindu Caves. It is located approximately 1 kilometer from the matatu drop-off point. You can either walk or hire a local bike taxi (boda boda) to take you there.
