If you are in Kisumu town, start at the Kisumu Bus Station, located on Oginga Odinga Street. From the bus station, head southwest on Oginga Odinga Street for about 300 meters until you reach the junction with Kenyatta Avenue. Turn left onto Kenyatta Avenue and continue straight for another 1 kilometer. You will pass several shops and local eateries. Keep an eye out for the sign for Hippo Point on your right just before reaching the waterfront. Follow the path leading down to the lakeshore.

Rent a bicycle from a local rental shop in Kisumu. Start at the Kisumu waterfront area near the Kisumu Yacht Club. Cycle along the waterfront heading west for about 2 kilometers until you reach the road leading towards Hippo Point. There will be signs directing you to the site. Follow these signs, and you will find a dedicated path leading to the Hippo Point area, where you can enjoy the scenic views of Lake Victoria.

To reach Hippo Point via matatu, head to the main matatu stage in Kisumu, located near the Kisumu Bus Station. Look for a matatu heading towards the Kisumu Pier or the 'Hippopoint' route.
