Getting There

  • Bicycle

    If you're starting from the Kisumu city center, head east on Oginga Odinga Street until you reach the junction with Harambee Road. Turn left onto Harambee Road and continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers. The KWS-Kisumu Impala Sanctuary will be on your right, just past Shauri Moyo Primary School. Look for the entrance to the sanctuary, which is well-marked.

    From the Kisumu city center, walk east along Oginga Odinga Street. When you reach the junction with Harambee Road, take a left turn. Continue walking down Harambee Road for approximately 1.5 kilometers. The KWS-Kisumu Impala Sanctuary will be on your right side, near Shauri Moyo Primary School. You’ll see signs directing you to the sanctuary entrance.

  • Public Transport (Matatu)

    To reach KWS-Kisumu Impala Sanctuary by matatu, head to the main matatu stage in Kisumu. Look for a matatu heading towards 'Kisumu East' or 'Kisumu Kaloleni' routes. Alight at the Shauri Moyo stop. From there, walk along Harambee Road for about 500 meters, and the sanctuary will be on your left, right after Shauri Moyo Primary School. Follow the signs to the entrance.
