    Getting There

    Car

    If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Lake Magadi. Head southwest on the main road towards the Lake Magadi area. Continue on this road for about 8 kilometers until you reach the fork in the road. Take the right fork towards Birds' Rock. Follow this road for approximately 3 kilometers, keeping an eye out for signs indicating the direction to Birds' Rock. After about 3 kilometers, you will see Birds' Rock on your left, identifiable by its unique rock formations and bird activity.

    Public Transportation

    For those using public transportation, you can take a matatu (shared taxi) from the main bus station in Lake Magadi heading towards the southern areas of the lake. Make sure to inform the driver that your destination is Birds' Rock. The fare is typically around 100 KES. The matatu will drop you off at the nearest point to Birds' Rock, which is about 2 kilometers away from the rock itself. From there, you can either walk or hire a local guide for a short hike to the rock. Walking will take around 30 minutes.

    Walking

    If you find yourself close to Birds' Rock, walking is a great way to immerse yourself in the surrounding scenery. From the nearest drop-off point (if you took a matatu), follow the dirt path leading towards the rock. Keep to the left side of the path, and after about 30 minutes of walking, you will arrive at Birds' Rock. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water, especially if it's a hot day.
