The route is scenic, and you'll pass several local shops and beaches along the way. Once you reach the R4JV+CM5 area, look for signs or locals to guide you to the estuary.

If you prefer to walk, begin your journey in Malindi town and head towards the beach. Walk along the coastline heading south until you reach the entrance of the Malindi Marine National Park. Continue walking along the coastal path past the park until you reach the junction with the road leading to the Athi River Estuary, which is about a 4 km walk. The path is generally safe and offers beautiful views of the ocean. Once you arrive at the R4JV+CM5 area, you may ask locals for precise directions to the estuary.
