If you are staying in Malindi town, start at the Malindi Town Center. Head west towards the Malindi Marine National Park entrance. Continue straight until you reach the junction with the road leading to Marafa. Turn left at the junction and follow the signs towards Marafa. After about 5 kilometers, you will start seeing signs for Hell's Kitchen (Marafa). As you approach, you will notice the distinctive red earth formations. The entrance is well-marked.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from a local shop in Malindi. Start from Malindi town and pedal west towards the Malindi Marine National Park. Once you reach the national park entrance, take the road leading to Marafa. Continue biking for approximately 5 kilometers. Look for the signs directing you to Hell's Kitchen (Marafa) as you reach the area known for its unique landscapes.
Boda Boda (Motorcycle Taxi)
Find a boda boda stand in Malindi town, typically near the market or popular tourist spots. Negotiate a fare with the rider, and ask to be taken to Hell's Kitchen (Marafa). The ride will take around 15-20 minutes. The driver will take the main road leading to Marafa. Make sure to inform your driver to drop you at the entrance of Hell's Kitchen.
Public Transport (Matatu)
Head to the nearest matatu stop in Malindi town. Look for a matatu that is heading towards Marafa. Once on board, tell the driver your destination is Hell's Kitchen (Marafa). The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. When you arrive at Marafa, ask to be dropped off at the entrance of Hell's Kitchen. From there, it’s a short walk to the site.
