From Malindi town center, head northeast on Moi Road towards the Malindi Airport. After approximately 2 km, turn right onto the Mombasa-Malindi Road (A14). Continue on this road for about 5 km until you reach a sign for Mambrui. Turn left onto a dirt road that leads directly to the Mambrui sand dunes, which are located about 1 km down this road.

Motorbike Taxi (Boda Boda)
You can hire a motorbike taxi (Boda Boda) from any point in Malindi. Tell the rider to take you to Mambrui sand dunes. The most common route is along the Mombasa-Malindi Road (A14) until the Mambrui turn-off. The ride should take around 15 minutes, depending on traffic.

Walking
If you are up for a walk, start from Malindi town center and head northeast towards the coast. Walk along the beach, heading toward Mambrui. This route takes you through scenic coastal views and local villages. It is approximately a 6 km walk and may take about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace. Follow the beach until you reach the sand dunes.

Public Transport (Matatu)
From Malindi town, locate the matatu (minibus) stage near the main market. Look for a matatu heading towards Mambrui. The fare is usually very affordable. After about 20 minutes of travel, ask the conductor to drop you off at the Mambrui stop. From there, it is a short walk to the sand dunes, approximately 1 km.
