If you are driving to Kitum Caves, start from the main entrance of Mount Elgon National Park. Follow the road towards the park headquarters at Suam, which is well-marked. From the headquarters, continue on the main road for about 10 kilometers. Look for the signs indicating the trailhead to Kitum Caves. There is a parking area near the trailhead where you can leave your car. Please be aware that there may be a small entry fee for the park, typically around 50-100 Kenyan Shillings per person.

If you are using public transportation, you will first need to get to the nearest town with bus services, which is Endebess. From Endebess, you can take a boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) or a local matatu (shared taxi) to the Mount Elgon National Park entrance. Upon reaching the park entrance, you will need to pay the entry fee, which is approximately 50-100 Kenyan Shillings per person. After entering the park, you can either walk or hire a local guide to lead you to the Kitum Caves, which is about 10 kilometers from the park headquarters.
