From the main entrance of Mount Elgon National Park, head southeast on the main road. Follow the signs for 'Machine Dam' as you drive towards Matunda. Continue on this road for approximately 15 kilometers until you reach the V452+VG coordinates. The road may be unpaved in certain sections, so a 4WD vehicle is recommended for better navigation.

Take a matatu (shared taxi) from the nearest town or center within Mount Elgon National Park to Matunda. Ensure you inform the driver you wish to get off near Machine Dam. The journey may take about 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic and road conditions. Once you arrive in Matunda, you can hire a boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) to take you directly to Machine Dam for a small fee, usually around 200-300 KES.
