Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the central area of Mount Kenya. Head towards Nanyuki on the A2 highway. Continue on the A2 until you reach a junction at Nanyuki town. Take the B5 road towards Nyeri. After approximately 15 km, you will see signs for Kiambogo. Turn onto the Kiambogo road and follow it for about 8 km. Kwa Gakii Farm is located on the left side of the road. Watch for the sign indicating the farm entrance.
Public Transportation
To reach Kwa Gakii Farm via public transportation, take a matatu (shared taxi) from Nanyuki to Nyeri. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Nyeri, you will need to board another matatu heading towards Kiambogo. This leg of the journey will take approximately 20-30 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest stop to Kwa Gakii Farm. From there, it is a short walk to the farm, so be sure to check directions with locals for the best route.
Bicycle
For adventurous travelers, consider cycling to Kwa Gakii Farm. Starting from Nanyuki, take the A2 highway towards Nyeri, ensuring to stay on the shoulder for safety. The ride is scenic but can be challenging due to traffic. After about 15 km, turn onto the B5 road, cycling for another 15 km until you reach Kiambogo. The farm is approximately 8 km down the Kiambogo road. Bicycle rental shops are available in Nanyuki, and you should budget around $10-15 for the day.
