Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the Westlands area, the easiest way to reach Museum Hill is by walking. Start at Sarit Centre, which is a popular shopping destination. From Sarit Centre, head east on Westlands Road towards the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Waiyaki Way (A104). Continue walking on Waiyaki Way for about 1 kilometer. You will pass by several shops and eateries along the way. Keep an eye out for the Museum Hill sign on your left. Once you see the sign, cross the road carefully to reach the entrance of Museum Hill. This walk should take approximately 15-20 minutes.

  • Matatu (Public Minibus)

    For a quicker option, you can take a matatu (public minibus) from Westlands to Museum Hill. Head to the nearest matatu stage, which is located near Sarit Centre. Look for matatus heading towards the city center (they will usually have signs in the window). Board the matatu and pay the fare, which is typically around 50-100 KES depending on your destination. Inform the conductor that you are going to Museum Hill, and they will drop you off at the closest point. From there, it’s a short walk to the entrance of the museum.

  • Boda Boda (Motorcycle Taxi)

    Another convenient option is to take a boda boda (motorcycle taxi). You can find boda boda riders around Westlands.
