Walking
If you are in the Westlands area, you can easily walk to Museum Hill. Start at the Sarit Centre, a well-known landmark in Westlands. From the Sarit Centre, head towards the Westlands roundabout. Cross the roundabout and continue straight on the main road, which is Waiyaki Way. You will walk for about 15-20 minutes. Keep an eye out for the signage leading to Museum Hill. As you approach the museum, you will see it on your right-hand side, just after the junction with the road leading to the Nairobi National Museum.
Matatu (Public Minibus)
From anywhere in Westlands, you can hop on a matatu heading towards the city center (look for those marked 'CBD'). Board the matatu from the designated matatu stage near Sarit Centre. The fare is usually around 50-100 KES depending on the distance. Tell the conductor you want to get off at the Museum Hill stop. The journey takes about 10-15 minutes. Once you get off, you will be a short walk away from Museum Hill, which is located just across the road.
Boda Boda (Motorcycle Taxi)
For a quicker option, you can take a boda boda from anywhere in Westlands. You can find boda boda riders near major intersections or ask your hotel to call one for you. The ride to Museum Hill will cost you around 100-200 KES, depending on your starting point. The ride typically takes about 10 minutes. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting the journey.
Use Museum Hill as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
