Car
From your starting point in North Eastern Province, head towards Nairobi. Depending on your location, you may take the A2 highway which connects various towns in the province to the capital. Once you reach Nairobi, follow signs to Karen Road. The Oloolua Nature Trail is located in Oloolua Forest along Karen Road. Look for the entrance to the trail, which is well-marked. Parking is available on-site. Please note that there may be a small entrance fee for visitors, usually ranging between 200 to 500 Kenyan Shillings.
Public Transportation
If you prefer to use public transportation, start by taking a bus or matatu (shared taxi) from your location in North Eastern Province to Nairobi. Once you arrive at the Nairobi Central Bus Station, look for buses or matatus heading to Karen. You can ask locals or bus attendants for the right matatu to take. Upon reaching the Karen area, you may need to take a motorcycle taxi (boda boda) or walk to the Oloolua Nature Trail entrance on Karen Road. Expect to pay around 50 to 150 Kenyan Shillings for the boda boda ride. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your ride.
