Getting There

Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Nyandarua County town of Nyahururu. Head west on the C69 road towards Ol Kalou. After about 25 kilometers, turn left onto the Kiriita Road (a gravel road) at the junction near the Kipipiri Forest Station. Follow this road for about 10 kilometers until you reach the entrance of the Kipipiri Forest. There is no entrance fee, but donations for the conservation efforts are appreciated. From the forest entrance, continue driving for about 5 kilometers until you arrive at the designated parking area for hikers. Please note that the last stretch of the road may be rough, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended.

Public Transportation
To reach Mount Kipipiri using public transportation, start from Nyahururu town. Take a matatu (shared taxi) heading towards Ol Kalou. The fare is approximately 100 KES. Inform the driver to drop you at the Kipipiri Forest Station junction. From there, you will need to walk approximately 10 kilometers along Kiriita Road to reach the Kipipiri Forest entrance. Alternatively, you can hire a boda boda (motorcycle taxi) from the junction for about 300 KES to take you to the forest entrance. Once at the forest entrance, you can hike from there to the summit of Mount Kipipiri.

Hiking
Once you have parked your car or arrived at the forest entrance via public transport, prepare for the hike. The trail to the summit of Mount Kipipiri starts at the parking area. It is a well-marked path but can be steep in places. The hike takes about 3-4 hours to reach the summit, depending on your fitness level. Ensure you have enough water, snacks, and appropriate hiking gear. The views from the top are spectacular, so take your time to enjoy the scenery before making your way back down.
