If you are traveling by car, start from Kapenguria town, which is a major hub in the Pokot Region. Head northwest on the A1 highway towards Kitale. After approximately 35 kilometers, take the exit onto the B3 road towards Kapcherop. Continue on the B3 for about 15 kilometers until you reach a junction. Here, take a left turn onto the Kapcherop road. Follow this road for about 10 kilometers, and you will arrive at the entrance of Kapcherop Forest. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain as some parts of the road may be unpaved.

Public Transportation
To reach Kapcherop Forest using public transportation, first, take a matatu (shared taxi) from Kapenguria to Kitale. The fare is usually around 100 KES. Once in Kitale, look for a matatu heading to Kapcherop. The fare for this leg of the journey is approximately 50 KES. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the Kapcherop Forest junction. From there, you may need to walk approximately 2 kilometers to reach the entrance of the forest, depending on where the matatu drops you off. It's advisable to ask locals for directions if you are unsure.

For the more adventurous traveler, cycling to Kapcherop Forest is an option. Starting from Kapenguria, you can take the same route as described for car travel. The ride is approximately 60 kilometers one way, so ensure you are fit and carry plenty of water and snacks. The ride will take you through beautiful scenery, but be prepared for some challenging climbs. Upon reaching the Kapcherop road junction, follow the road for the last leg to the forest entrance.
