Private Car
If you are traveling by private car, start from the town of Kapenguria, which is a primary access point in the Pokot Region. Head northwest on the A1 highway towards Kitale. After approximately 50 kilometers, turn off onto the road marked towards Sigor. Continue on this road for about 25 kilometers until you reach Sigor town. From Sigor, take the road towards Panyor, which is well-marked. Mount Mtelo is about 15 kilometers from Panyor, and the road may be rough, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. Follow the dirt road, and you will see signs pointing towards Mount Mtelo as you approach the base of the mountain.

To reach Mount Mtelo using public transportation, start your journey at the Kapenguria bus station. Look for matatus (shared taxis) heading towards Sigor. The fare is usually around 200 KES.
