Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from any location within Tsavo National Park, head towards the main road leading out of the park. Follow the signs towards Mombasa and Tsavo East National Park. Continue on the A109 road for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the junction for Kiembeni Road. Turn left onto Kiembeni Road and follow it for about 5 kilometers. Nguuni Nature Sanctuary will be on your left. Look for the entrance signage.

    For those traveling by public transportation, locate a bus heading towards Mombasa from a nearby town or park entrance. Once you arrive at the Mombasa bus station, look for a local matatu (shared taxi) or bus heading towards Kiembeni. Inform the driver that you want to go to Nguuni Nature Sanctuary. The fare should be around 100 to 200 KES (Kenyan Shillings). Once you reach Kiembeni, ask any local for directions as the sanctuary is a short walk from the main road.
