Car
If you are driving from central Watamu, head south on the main road (Malindi-Watamu Road). After approximately 1.5 kilometers, turn left onto the road leading towards the beach area. Continue straight until you reach a fork; take the right fork. Keep following the road which will take you through a few local neighborhoods. After about 2 kilometers, look for a sign indicating Isola Dell'Amore. The destination will be on your left. Note: Parking is available nearby, but may incur a small fee, typically around 200 KES.
Public Transportation
To reach Isola Dell'Amore using public transportation, start by taking a matatu (shared taxi) from Watamu town center heading towards Malindi. Inform the conductor that you want to get off at the beach area near Isola Dell'Amore. The ride will cost about 50 KES and takes approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you reach the beach area, it’s a short walk (approximately 500 meters) to Isola Dell'Amore. Look for directional signs or ask locals for guidance.
Walking
If you are already in the beach area of Watamu, you can simply walk to Isola Dell'Amore. Head towards the coastline and walk south along the beach. It’s about a 15-minute walk (approximately 1.2 kilometers). Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated, as the sandy terrain can be challenging.
