Getting There

Walking
From the center of Ferizaj, head north on the main street (Bulevardi Nënë Tereza) until you reach the intersection with Rruga e Dëshmorëve. Turn right onto Rruga e Dëshmorëve and continue straight for about 1 kilometer. You will pass several shops and cafes on your way. After 1 kilometer, take a left onto Rruga e Shkupi. Continue straight for another 500 meters until you reach the main bus station. From there, take a bus to Skopje, which is around 20 kilometers away. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you reach Skopje, disembark at the main bus station (Avtobuska Stanica). From there, head southeast towards the city center. Follow signs to the Old Bazaar, and continue towards the Macedonia Square. From the square, you can ask locals or follow directional signs to the Skopje Fortress, which is a short walk away. The fortress is located on a hill, so be prepared for a slight uphill trek.

Public Transport
Start at the central bus station in Ferizaj. Purchase a ticket for a bus going to Skopje; the buses run frequently throughout the day. Once you board the bus, enjoy the scenic ride which takes about 30-40 minutes. Upon arrival at the Skopje bus station, exit the bus and head south towards the main square (Macedonia Square). You can either walk or take a local tram to reach the Old Bazaar area. From there, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the Skopje Fortress, which is well-known and easy to locate. It’s about a 15-minute walk from the Old Bazaar to the fortress.
