Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the main road in Jety-Oguz Valley. Head towards the Dzhetyoguz village and look for the sign indicating the turn-off for the Cave, located at coordinates 42.3089376 latitude and 78.2629025 longitude. Drive approximately 5 kilometers towards the cave entrance. The road can be rough in some places, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. Park your vehicle in the designated area and prepare for a short hike to the cave.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a minibus (marshrutka) from Karakol to Dzhetyoguz village. The ride takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Dzhetyoguz, you may need to hire a local taxi or arrange for a local guide to take you to the Cave. Taxis in the area usually charge around 200-300 KGS for the round trip to the cave entrance. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey.
Walking
If you are already in Dzhetyoguz village and prefer walking, find your way to the main road leading out of the village towards the cave. It is about a 3-4 kilometer hike from the village. Follow the dirt path that leads you through the valley, and keep an eye out for directional signs or local hikers who can guide you. The hike will take approximately 1 hour, so wear comfortable shoes and carry water.
