Getting there

Public Transport

From Pakse, take a local bus or shared taxi heading to Paksong. Buses leave regularly from the main bus station in Pakse. The fare is approximately 20,000 to 30,000 LAK per person. Once you arrive in Paksong, hire a tuk-tuk or a motorbike taxi for about 50,000 LAK to take you to Tad Gneuang Waterfall. Negotiate the fare before starting your ride.

Walking

If you are staying in nearby Ban Lak 40, you can walk to Tad Gneuang Waterfall. It is about a 15 to 20-minute walk from the village to the waterfall, following the dirt paths that lead through the forest. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes, as the path may have uneven terrain.

Tad Gneuang Waterfall is a striking natural gem located within a national park in the heart of Champasak Province, Laos. Known for its stunning cascades that plunge dramatically into a serene pool below, this waterfall captivates visitors with its beauty and the lush greenery that envelops the area. The area around Tad Gneuang offers numerous hiking trails and vantage points where you can enjoy panoramic views of the waterfall and its surroundings. The falls tumble into a pool 40 meters below. Unlike some other waterfalls in the region, it is possible to swim in the pools above and below the falls, though caution should be taken as there might be strong currents.Visitors can explore a local market with stalls and shops offering organic vegetables and fruits, local products and crafts, and Bolaven Plateau coffee. The community has upgraded the viewpoints, added a picnic area, and created a safer trail.
