    Ferry

    From Luang Prabang, head to the Mekong Riverfront near the Royal Palace. Take the local car ferry across the Mekong River to Ban Xieng Maen. The ferry departs approximately every 10-15 minutes and costs around 5,000 Kip per person. On the other side, follow the signs for about one kilometer, then climb the 123 steps to Wat Chomphet. Entrance to the temple is 20,000 Kip.

    Hire a tuk-tuk from Luang Prabang to the Mekong riverfront. Negotiate a round-trip fare, which should cost approximately $3 USD. The tuk-tuk will drop you off near the ferry.
