Tuk-tuk
From Thakhek, hire a tuk-tuk at the Thakhek Market or arrange one through your hotel. A tuk-tuk ride to Tham Pa Sueam takes approximately 15-20 minutes. The driver will take Route 12 and then turn onto the Nam Theun River road, dropping you off at the cave entrance. Confirm the fare before starting; a typical ride costs between 50,000 to 100,000 LAK ($5 to $10 USD).
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from a shop in Thakhek for about 20,000 LAK per day. Cycle south on Route 12, then turn left onto the Nam Theun River road. The ride is approximately 12 kilometers and takes about 1 hour. Follow the signs to Tham Pa Sueam; the entrance will be on your right.
Public Transportation
From the main bus station in Thakhek, take a local bus heading towards surrounding villages. Confirm with the driver that they stop near Tham Pa Sueam. The fare is around 10,000 to 20,000 LAK. From the bus stop, walk 1-2 kilometers to the cave entrance or hire a tuk-tuk for 50,000 to 100,000 LAK.
