Car
If you are traveling by car from Luang Prabang, take Route 13 south towards Vientiane. After approximately 200 km, you will reach the town of Pakse. From Pakse, take Route 16 east towards Khon Tai. After about 40 km, turn onto the road that leads directly to the Li Phi Somphamit Waterfalls. The GPS coordinates for the waterfalls are approximately 13.9549° N, 105.9141° E. Parking is available near the entrance.
Bus
To reach the Li Phi Somphamit Waterfalls via public transportation, start by taking a bus from Luang Prabang to Pakse. This bus ride takes around 10-12 hours. Once in Pakse, head to the local bus station and take a bus to Khon Tai. The journey will take about 1 hour. After arriving in Khon Tai, you can hire a tuk-tuk or a local taxi to take you the final 12 km to the waterfalls. Expect to pay around 30,000 LAK for the tuk-tuk ride.
Tuk-Tuk
Once you are in Khon Tai, you can also find tuk-tuks that can take you directly to the Li Phi Somphamit Waterfalls. Agree on a fare before starting your journey. The cost for a tuk-tuk from Khon Tai to the waterfalls is typically around 30,000 to 50,000 LAK, depending on your negotiation skills.
