Car
If you are driving from Phakse, head east on Route 13 towards Khon Kaen. Continue to follow Route 13 for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the junction for Route 18. Turn left onto Route 18 and keep driving for about 12 kilometers. You will see signs directing you to Li Phi Somphamit Waterfalls. Follow the signs until you reach the parking area near the waterfalls. Please note that parking may incur a small fee, usually around 10,000 LAK (approximately 1 USD).
Public Transportation
From Phakse, you can take a local bus or a shared taxi (songthaew) to Khon Tai. Buses leave regularly from the main bus station. The fare is typically around 20,000 LAK (approximately 2 USD) and the journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Khon Tai, you can hire a tuk-tuk to take you to Li Phi Somphamit Waterfalls. The tuk-tuk ride will cost approximately 30,000-50,000 LAK (around 3-5 USD) and will take about 15 minutes. Make sure to confirm the price before starting your journey.
Motorbike Rental
For those who prefer a more adventurous route, consider renting a motorbike in Phakse. Rental shops can be found throughout the city, and prices are usually around 100,000 LAK (approximately 10 USD) per day. From Phakse, take Route 13 east towards Khon Kaen, then turn onto Route 18 as described in the car guidance. The ride offers beautiful scenic views and the freedom to explore at your own pace. Remember to wear a helmet and drive safely.
