Getting There

Motorbike/Car
From Thakhek, follow Route 12 east for approximately 13-14 km. Look for a sign indicating the cave shortly after crossing a bridge. Turn onto the dirt road on the right (south). Follow the dirt track for about 400m near the village of Ban Songkhone. There is a parking area near a school. Parking may cost around 5,000-10,000 LAK.

Public Transportation
Take a bus from Thakhek to Mahaxai; buses depart regularly from Thakhek bus station. The fare is approximately 30,000 LAK. From Mahaxai, hire a local tuk-tuk or arrange a private car for the remaining 15 km to Xieng Liap Cave. Negotiate the tuk-tuk fare.
