Getting there

Motorbike/Scooter

The most common way to reach the Pha Ngern Silver Cliff View Point trailhead from Vang Vieng is by renting a motorbike. Motorbike rentals typically cost around 150,000 Kip per day. From Vang Vieng, follow the road west towards Tham Poukham Cave. After a few kilometers, look for signs indicating the turnoff to Pha Ngern Silver Cliff View Point. The road to the trailhead includes a dirt track. Park your motorbike at the designated parking area near the trailhead. From the parking lot, it's a 400 meter walk to the entrance.

Tuk-Tuk

Alternatively, hire a tuk-tuk from Vang Vieng to take you to the trailhead. Negotiate the price with the driver before starting your journey; a typical fare might be around 30,000 Kip. The 2-kilometer-wide cliff offers views of the villages below and across the valley to Pha Boua Mountain.The hike to the summit is a challenging but rewarding experience, generally taking 30-45 minutes from the trailhead. The trail can be steep and rocky, with some sections having steel wire handrails to assist hikers. The final stretch to the second viewpoint involves navigating sharp, jagged rocks, so sturdy hiking shoes are recommended. Along the way, there's a lower viewpoint about 650-700 meters from the base, facing east towards Vang Vieng.At the summit, hikers can enjoy unmatched views of the surroundings from designated viewing platforms. A small wooden hut provides shelter from the sun. The viewpoint has become a favorite spot for its panoramic views, offering a blend of natural beauty and tranquility.
