Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from the capital city of Vientiane, take Route 13 north towards Phonsavan. After approximately 90 kilometers, you will reach the town of Pha That. From Pha That, continue on Route 13 for about 28 kilometers until you reach the junction for Route 7. Turn left onto Route 7 and follow the road for about 10 kilometers. Look for signs indicating the 'Turn-off to Tad Ka Waterfall' on your right. The turn-off is marked with a small sign, and you will need to drive down the dirt road for about 3 kilometers to reach the waterfall.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Tad Ka Waterfall using public transportation, you can take a bus from Vientiane to Phonsavan. Buses leave regularly from the main bus station, and the fare is approximately 50,000 LAK (about $5 USD). Once you arrive in Phonsavan, you can hire a tuk-tuk to take you to the turn-off for Tad Ka Waterfall, which should cost around 100,000 LAK (about $10 USD) for the short ride. Keep an eye out for the signs for Route 7 as you approach the waterfall; the tuk-tuk driver should be familiar with the area.

• Bicycle

  For the more adventurous traveler, renting a bicycle in Phonsavan can be a great way to reach Tad Ka Waterfall. After arriving in Phonsavan, rent a bicycle for the day (typically around 20,000 LAK or $2 USD). From Phonsavan, cycle along Route 13 for about 28 kilometers, then turn left onto Route 7. Continue cycling for approximately 10 kilometers, and watch for the turn-off on your right. The final stretch will require riding down a dirt road for about 3 kilometers, so be prepared for a bumpy ride.
