Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from the center of Xekong Province, head north on Route 16. Continue on this road for about 30 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 12. Take the left turn onto Route 12, and follow the signs for Houayxay. After about 15 kilometers, you will see a sign for the scenic loop. Turn right onto the scenic loop road. Drive for approximately 10 kilometers, and you will arrive at the Viewpoint on the scenic loop. Parking is available near the viewpoint.

• Public Transportation

  To reach the Viewpoint on the scenic loop by public transport, first take a bus from the main bus station in Xekong Province to Houayxay. The journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, and tickets typically cost around 30,000 LAK. Once in Houayxay, you can hire a tuk-tuk or a motorbike taxi to take you to the scenic loop. The tuk-tuk ride will cost about 50,000 LAK and will take around 20 minutes to reach the viewpoint. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey.

• Motorbike Rental

  For those looking for a more adventurous option, consider renting a motorbike in Xekong Province. Rental shops are available in the city, and prices start at around 100,000 LAK per day. From the city center, follow the same route as for the car directions by heading north on Route 16, then taking Route 12 towards Houayxay. After about 55 kilometers, look for the scenic loop sign and follow the road to the viewpoint. Remember to wear a helmet and drive safely.
